Far from the maddening crowd and a long way from civilization, the Bamsaru pass trek is one of the most virgin Trans Himalayan trek. Discovered in 1815 by one, “Jim Braille Frasier” this trail acts as an alternative route between the Yamuna valley to Bhagirathi valley in the Gangotri side.

Located at the base of the Banderpunch massif, the source of the Hanuman Ganga River, the trail traverses the remote river valley of Hanuman Ganga and it’s confluence with the Yamuna River at Hanumanchatti. The less traversed trail rewards its rare traveler with magnificent views of snow capped mountains of the Gangotri range and beautiful flower topped meadows (bugiyals). The flora mainly consists of the Oak, Rhododendron, Bhojpatra and Deodhar. One can have the sighting of, Ibex, Snow fox, Himalayan Belchers & Eagles. Black faced monkeys (Langoors), are abundant in the tree tops.

Rated as “Moderate”, this strenuous trek is only advised for the serious trekkers. Though taxing, this trail rewards its visitors with its charming Alpine Forests, beautiful sunkissed Bugiyals and vistas of the magnificent peaks of Banderpunch, Black Peak and the panoramic views of the Gangotri range.
