The Pindari Glacier trek is one of the most difficult treks of the Kumaun Himalayas. Located at an height of about 3,600 m, it is the source of the Pindar river that drains into the Alakananda. Maneuvering through the Nanda Devi Wildlife Sanctuary, the trail is beautiful in itself all the while offering breathtaking views of peaks like Maiktoli, Panwali Dar etc.
Day 1: The trek starts from Kharkiya in the morning. A 5 km trek takes you to Khati, the first campsite. Have lunch on reaching there. Leisure in the afternoon while you get acclimatized to the altitude.
Day 2: A trek of about 11 km through dense rhododendron forests takes you to the next camp at Dwali. The trail passes along the river Pinder.
Day 3: Post breakfast we set out for a short trek of 5 km to reach Phurkiya. This is also our summit camp. Have an early dinner and settle in to prepare yourself for the tough day tomorrow.
Day 4: We set out very early in the morning for our summit trek. Reach zero point to witness the Pindari glacier at its full magnificence. After that return to Phurkiya. From there trek back to Dwali.
Day 5: Today we retrace our known path to Khati. A trek of 5-6 hours will take us to our destination. Lunch will be served at the camp. You can explore around in Khati which has beautiful sights to offer. Dinner will be served by 8 P.M.
Day 6: We start post breakfast to reach our destination, Kharkiya. Our service ends on reaching there. From there you can take a cab back to Bageswar.
How to reach Kharkiya: In order to reach Kharkiya, you have to reach Bageswar by the day before. Bageswar can be reached via shared or reserved cabs from Kathgodam. Cabs are available at Bageswar in the morning to take you to Kharkiya.
Lunch: Rice, Dal and Sabji
Packet Lunch: Alu Paratha with achaar.
Snacks: Tea with Pakoda
Dinner: Khichri with Papad
Hot water is available on chargeable basis.

Life is unpredictable and we understand that sometimes you have to cancel or change your trip dates and it is our endeavor to make it as easy as possible for you. However, please understand that we plan everything including guide fees, permits, accommodation and ration in advance. Therefore, any cancellation means inconvenience and certain losses to the people involved in various stages of the programme. Keeping that in mind, our cancellation charges are as below –
Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the event: Full refund as cash
Cancellations between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the event: 50 % refund as cash.
Cancellations less than 15 days to the start of the event: No refund.
If for some reason you wish to cancel the trek, email intimation (firstname.lastname@example.org) needs to
be sent to along with telephonic information.
Note: WeTrekkers reserves the right to cancel a programme before departure in the event of logistical problems arising due to natural calamities, strikes, wars or any other circumstances that make the event inadvisable. In this case, we will refund 50% of the event fees.
Itinerary Changes &Trip delays: We plan itineraries based on the information available at the time of planning and in rare circumstances, they are subject to change. In the event that the itinerary is changed or delayed due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, transportation delays, government intervention, landslides etc., we will always aim to give you the best experience possible. However, WeTrekkers cannot be held responsible for the cost of delay or changes.
Please note: In case of refund, there will be a deduction of 5% (bank charges) from the total fee you have paid. Also, if you have opted for a trek insurance, the amount will not be refunded.
Refunds will be processed within 7 - 10 working days from the date of cancellation.
