Sandakphu, the highest point of West Bengal is situated in the Darjeeling district. Reaching a height of 3,636 m, it provides unobstructed views of some of the highest peaks of the world, namely Mt Everest, Kanchenjungha, Lhotse, Makalu etc. The trail which lies along the border of India and Nepal, falls under the territory of Singalila National Park and is home to the famously elusive Red Panda along with a various diversity of rich flora and fauna
Journey Day: You have to reach Dhotrey, the base camp. Dhotrey can be reached via direct car from NJP. You can also take a shared car upto Maneybhanjan. From there you can take another car to reach Dhotrey. Dinner will be provided at 8 P.M.
Day 1: The trek starts in the morning post breakfast. Our destination will be Gairibas. We will pass through Tonglu, Tumling and Jaubari. The total trek of the day will be 12 Kms. Lunch will be on the way. On reaching Gairibas tea and snacks will be served. Dinner will be served by 8 P.M
Day 2: Freshen up and get set to start your trek. Breakfast will be served by 7 A.M. The destination today is Kalipokhri. A steep climb of 6 Km will take to the alpine lake set amidst the mountains. Settle in for the day and prepare for the final climb of tomorrow.
Day 3: Post breakfast, set out for the most challenging part of the trail. The steep climb will take you to the destination, Sandakphu. Enjoy the panoramic view of the highest peaks of the world. It is suggested that you tuck in early tonight to have a glimpse of the magnificent sunrise.
Day 4: Wake up early in the morning to witness the sunrise. Post breakfast set out for the last leg of the trek. A descend of about 18 kms will take you to Srikhola, a quaint hamlet situated by the Sri river. This is the final destination of the trek, so you can relax in the afternoon.
Journey day: A 5-6 hour journey by car will take you back at NJP
NOTE: WeTrekkers will arrange the transport but the cost has to be borne by the trekkers. Conversely, you can take a shared cab at your own convenience
Lunch: Rice, Dal and Sabzi
Packet Lunch: Alu Paratha with achaar.
Snacks: Tea with Pakoda
Dinner: Khichri with Papad
Hot water is available on chargeable basis.

Day 3: Gairibas to Kalipokhri
Day 4: Kalipokhri to Sandakphu
Day 5: Sandakphu to Srikhola

Life is unpredictable and we understand that sometimes you have to cancel or change your trip dates and it is our endeavor to make it as easy as possible for you. However, please understand that we plan everything including guide fees, permits, accommodation and ration in advance. Therefore, any cancellation means inconvenience and certain losses to the people involved in various stages of the programme. Keeping that in mind, our cancellation charges are as below –
Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the event: Full refund as cash
Cancellations between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the event: 50 % refund as cash.
Cancellations less than 15 days to the start of the event: No refund.
If for some reason you wish to cancel the trek, email intimation (firstname.lastname@example.org) needs to
be sent to along with telephonic information.
Note: WeTrekkers reserves the right to cancel a programme before departure in the event of logistical problems arising due to natural calamities, strikes, wars or any other circumstances that make the event inadvisable. In this case, we will refund 50% of the event fees.
Itinerary Changes & Trip delays: We plan itineraries based on the information available at the time of planning and in rare circumstances, they are subject to change. In the event that the itinerary is changed or delayed due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, transportation delays, government intervention, landslides etc., we will always aim to give you the best experience possible. However, WeTrekkers cannot be held responsible for the cost of delay or changes.
Please note: In case of refund, there will be a deduction of 5% (bank charges) from the total fee you have paid. Also, if you have opted for a trek insurance, the amount will not be refunded.
Refunds will be processed within 7 - 10 working days from the date of cancellation
