The Namik Glacier trek, which derives it's name from the various saline water springs that is present in the area is situated in the Pithoragarh District of Uttarakhand. Still a very virgin route, this is the trail you can go to, if you are looking for some peace and tranquility.

The glacier is situated at an altitude of 3,600 m in the Kumaun Himalayas. The river Ramganga, owes it's origin to the Namik Glacier. The trail follows the bends of the ramganga river and passes through pristine meadows, dense forests and villages rich in culture with remnents from the ancient Indo-Tibetian trade route which passed through this region. The peaks of Nanda Devi, Nanda KOt and Trishul are omnipresent along the route. Other glaciers like Hiramani Glacier and Pindari also falls in the same region.

Declared by Uttarakhand Tourism as the trek of the year 2018, The Namik Trek is an unexplored gem. Though very less explored, it is one of the most picturesque trails of India
