Devi Kund and Sundherdhunga are the most favorite trekking destinations for many trekkers. Sundherdhunga is a very alluring place in the kumaon region of Uttarakhand. In the Kumaoni dialect, the literal meaning of the word “Sundherdhunga” is “Valley of beautiful stones”. To understand the appropriateness of the name 'Sundherdhunga' one has to actually trek there. The tranquality of this place is incomparable and coherent when you further trek to this high altitude semi circle crystal clear Lake Devi Kund, which in English means “the abode of Devi”, lies at an altitude of 14,500 ft above the sea level. The spectacular view of the lake attracts trekkers all round the world, surrounded by sheer Mt. Panwali dwar, the imposing Maiktoli, Anamik, Bhanouti, Tharkhot, Durgakot, Simsagam ,the massive Mrigthuni and Mt Nandakot.
The path to Devi Kund from Sundherdhunga is a beautiful and colorful journey through the blowsy, budding, assorted flowers, distinct valleys, various small and medium waterfalls and the striking snow capped mountain ranges.Sundherdhunga gives the trekkers ample opportunity to camp in the green valleys at Dhakuri pass surrounded by pine trees. From Dhakuri, a halt for the trekkers, gives a astonishing panoramic view of Sundherdhunga, Pindari and khafni valleys.
While trekking to Devi Kund and Sundherdhunga, you can experience the beauty and simplicity of the Kumaoni lives truely. This trek can make you experience the hill folk’s living culture and tradition. . The route of Devi Kund and Shundherdhunga trekking is full of adventure and excitement that you can hardly forget in your lifetime.
This trek needs at least 6-7 hours of walk each day to summit. The months of March to May or months of September to December are the best time to trek in the Kumaon Himalayas. This trek targets not only to the summit but also to capture the photographs of the entire region.
Day 1: Kathgodam to Bageswar (Drive About 171 km)
Day 2: Bageswar to Loharkhet (40 km drive)
Day3: Loharkhet to Dhakuri
Day 4: Dhakuri to Jatoli
Day 5: Jatoli to Kathliya
Day 6: Kathliya to Maiktoli Base Camp and Return to Kathliya
Day 7: Kathliya to Devi Kund via Balooni Top
Day 8: Devikund to Banaknr via Nagkund
Day 9: Banaknr to Patharkuni via Kanakata Pass
Day 10: Patharkuni to Jatoli
Day 11: Jatoli to Dhakuri
Day 12: Dhakuri to Loharkhet and drive back to Bageswar
Day 13: Acclimization Day/Rest Day Depending upon the situation of team member during trek

Life is unpredictable and we understand that sometimes you have to cancel or change your trip dates and it is our endeavor to make it as easy as possible for you. However, please understand that we plan everything including guide fees, permits, accommodation and ration in advance. Therefore, any cancellation means inconvenience and certain losses to the people involved in various stages of the programme. Keeping that in mind, our cancellation charges are as below –
Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the event: Full refund as cash
Cancellations between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the event: 50 % refund as cash.
Cancellations less than 15 days to the start of the event: No refund.
If for some reason you wish to cancel the trek, email intimation (email@example.com) needs to
be sent to along with telephonic information.
Note: WeTrekkers reserves the right to cancel a programme before departure in the event of logistical problems arising due to natural calamities, strikes, wars or any other circumstances that make the event inadvisable. In this case, we will refund 50% of the event fees.
Itinerary Changes &Trip delays: We plan itineraries based on the information available at the time of planning and in rare circumstances, they are subject to change. In the event that the itinerary is changed or delayed due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, transportation delays, government intervention, landslides etc., we will always aim to give you the best experience possible. However, WeTrekkers cannot be held responsible for the cost of delay or changes.
Please note: In case of refund, there will be a deduction of 5% (bank charges) from the total fee you have paid. Also, if you have opted for a trek insurance, the amount will not be refunded.
Refunds will be processed within 7 - 10 working days from the date of cancellation.

Equipment is the foundation
Every piece of equipment used on our trips is company owned. We can assure you of its reliability and suitability. We utilize a strong collection of quality equipment from internationally well known brands and each piece is closely inspected before and after each expedition. Through our uncompromising dedication to quality and extreme emphasis on inspection and maintenance, we can ensure that every piece of equipment is in top performing condition at all times.
Our attention to equipment excellence for safety also transfers to considerations of comfort for our guests. With WeTrekkers all trips utilize a mess tent and kitchen setup. This affords our guests a comfortable dining experience on wilderness trips even in adverse weather. Kitchen/Dining Facilities include water dispensers, tables, canteens, required cookware, and water filters, etc. One the trail sleep is important. WeTrekkers offers sleeping bags and rubber sleeping mats as needed. Waterproof 2-3 Man dome tents are also available.
Extra equipment such as Waikie-Taikies, binoculars, and touch GPS sets and search lights are also available.

Good nutritious meals are the keys to a successful tour. Our guests enjoy excellent meals that are prepared by an experienced cook in clean and hygienic manner. Prior to departure we discuss food preferences and allergies with our guests and also consider expedition intensity before preparing menus.
